Stainless Hardware

You will be provided with stainless truss screws with your purchase.

Keep in mind not to overtighten!!!!!!  I cannot stress this enough.

Aluminum composite boards should be pre-drilled using a metal tap to guide the drill bit.  this step will stop your drill bit from skipping across your new beautiful piece of art.  A piece of masking tape can be placed prior to drilling also to help protect from bit damage.

Industrial Exterior Velcro

Industrial exterior grade velco is an option for the smaller aluminum composite quilts.  I would consider this for 1'x1', 2'x2' quilts.  Keep in mind this is not as surdy in wind and will need to be checked often.

Stainless  Spring Mirror Hangers

Stainless spring mirror hangers are a very nice option if you do not want to drill holes in your quilt.  These also are great if you like to change out your quilts often and is a sturdy hold.  I do not recommend this for high wind areas so be sure to use plenty if this is an issue.  You can find these on amazon under Meprotal Spring Loaded Mirror Hanger Clips

French Cleat System

The French Cleat system is more elaborate system that is nice for owners if they like to change out the pieces of artwork often. I myself have not built one but some barn quilters have used this option for a while and seem to get along well with it.  Here is a webpage to help with glue options.

Stainless  Rivets

Stainless steel rivets can be used to attach a barn quilt to metal.  This method requires a metal tap guide and pre-drilling your quilt.  I do like the discrete appearance of rivets but the installation is labor intensive.

Masonry

For brick and masonry there are several options:

Stainless masonry screws from amazon

Cement toggles

I have heard of brick clips but have not had any experience with this before

Be sure not to over tighten

Tools

There are many different ways to display a barn quilt outside and inside.  Here are some options to consider.
